I’m Habiba Doorenbos; an illustrator based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
As a child I spent every spare minute drawing mermaids, centaurs, princesses and horses. Then I fell in love with film and I studied Production Design at the Dutch Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. After a journey of discovery in the movie industry I ended up rediscovering my first love: making illustrations. After learning everything there is to know about creating illustrations digitally, I started assisting Bob Gibson of the amazing artist duo "The London Police". Spending tons of happy days in their studio with a marker in my hand helping their artwork come to life, I became so inspired I started making my own artwork! To me there’s nothing like the momentum of putting a line on a piece of paper.

Do you make t-shirts designs often?
This spring was the first time I saw one of my drawings printed on a t-shirt. I produced a limited edition t-shirts with the flying lyon drawing I made for the cover of my album. I love the idea that people are wearing my t-shirts in places like Brazil and Finland. Can't wait to wear my own owl t-shirt from Mister Dress-Up!
